The Black Eyed Peas have announced plans to launch the “E.N.D. World Tour 2010,” marking their first North American tour in four years. They’ll be kicking off the festivities February 4th at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA. The group is scheduled to arrive at New York City’s Madison Garden just three weeks into their travels before hitting up the TD Garden in Boston, MA on the 26th. The tour will wrap up after their April 11th performance at General Motors Place in Vancouver, BC. Expect the Black Eyed Peas to perform in all major U.S. cities during their two month road trip.
Comprised of members Will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie, the group was first recognized on an international level following the release of their third studio album “Elephunk in 2003.” Featuring the popular tracks “Where is the Love” and “Shut Up,” the record went on to reach double platinum certification. Popular jazz singer-songwriter Norah Jones just recently announced dates for her upcoming 2010 U.S. spring tour. Over the course of nine weeks she will be headlining at major venues in cities that include Kansas City, Louisville, Indianapolis, Chicago, New York, Baltimore, Los Angeles, San Diego, Dallas, and Nashville. She’ll be opening on Friday, March 5th at the Brady Theater in Tulsa Oklahoma. Jones is later set to arrive at the Citi Performing Arts Center – Wang Theatre in Boston, MA on Thursday, March 25th. The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA will mark the final tour stop on Saturday, May 15th.
The talented Brooklyn native is most well known for her 2002 Diamond studio album “Come Away With Me,” featuring the #1 single “Don’t Know Why.” In 2003 she took home three Grammy Awards for “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance,” “Record of the Year,” and “Song of the Year.” Jones will be sure to showcase material from her latest studio album “The Fall” in next year’s tour. “The Fall” debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 after its release this November. R Kelly’s newest project “Untitled” as of today can be purchased in record stores all over the U.S! The longtime R&B singer songwriter-produced most of the music himself through Jive Records and Sony Music. The leading single “Number One” featuring Keri Hilson was previously released in July. Kelly was supposed to release an album in 2008 under the name “12 Play, 4th Quarter.” The project was leaked well before the scheduled release date, motivating Kelly to come up with completely new material.
Since joining Jive Records in 1991, R Kelly has now released a total of nine studio albums. He is best known for his classic singles “Bump n’ Grind,” “I Believe I Can Fly,” “Ignition,” and “If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time.” He has produced for a long list of artists that include Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Toni Braxton, Mary J. Blige, Celine Dion, 112, Britney Spears, and Whitney Houston (to name a few). R Kelly will be wrapping up his 2009 tour at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St Louis, MO on December 8th. The House of Blues in Boston is set to host the Dropkick Murphys for six shows from March 13th to March 17th, 2010. The Dropkicks were the first to perform at the new state of the art concert venue last year in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Current members include Tim Brennan, James Lynch, Al Barr, Ken Casey, Matt Kelly, Scruffy Wallace and Jeff DaRosa.
The Quincy natives first started playing together in 1996. From their six studio albums they’ve released popular singles “Tessie,” “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” and “The State of Massachusetts.” The band is widely heard in all Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and Patriots home games. “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” is also the official song of Australian Rules Football (featured on the ad in Australia promoting the sport). Rolling Stone Magazine interviewed U2 frontman Bono about the continuation of their widely popular ’360 Tour,’ along with future plans for the group in 2010. “We’ve been playing really well on the tour and getting better and better, and we need to distill whatever we have into some songs,” said Bono. “I would like to put out an album quickly, but we’re only going to do it if it’s great.”
The New York Times, The Observer, and Canada Sun Media have all reported U2′s plans to release an album sometime next year.
