Tennessee Titans (11-1) 47 Detroit Lions (0-12) 10 - The Titans bounced back from their first loss of the year and trampled the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.

Dallas Cowboys (8-4) 34 Seattle Seahawks (2-10) 9 - Romo threw for 331 yards and had 3 TD passes to lead the Cowboys to their eigth win.

Philadelphia Eagles (6-5-1) 48 Arizona Cardinals (7-5) 20 - McNabb’s 4 TD passes were just what the Eagles needed to get past the Cardinals on Thursday.

Miami Dolphins (7-5) 16 St. Louis Rams (2-10) 12 - The Dolphins look determined to stay in the playoff picture in the AFC with their win over the Rams on Sunday.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-3) 23 New Orleans Saints (6-6) 20 - Jeff Garcia led the Bucs past the Saints today to get their record up to 9-3.

San Francisco 49ers (4-8) 10 Buffalo Bills (6-6) 3 - There was very little offense to speak of in today’s 49ers win over the Bills.

Baltimore Ravens (8-4) 34 Cincinnati Bengals (1-10-1) 3 - Flacco led the Ravens over the Bengals with two TD passes.

Carolina Panthers (9-3) 35 Green Bay Packers (5-7) 31 - Aaron Rodgers had 3 TD’s but couldn’t lead the Packers to victory today.

Indianapolis Colts (8-4) 10 Cleveland Browns (4-8) 6 - A 4th quarter TD led the Colts past the Browns for their 8th win.

Seven years since releasing their last album Rock Steady, No Doubt are getting ready to go out on the road again. Announced via the band’s website, Stefani and company will be going out on a major 2009 tour. The NHL Winter Classic, hockey’s annual outdoor game, is coming to Wrigley field this season. Unlike last year’s Pittsburgh/Buffalo affair, the 2009 Classic may have implications in the results of the Western Conference Central Division.

The Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings have stepped it up recently. Both teams have fought through tough schedules to put up 7-1-2 records in the past ten, and have largely avoided the injury bug. With a game in hand, Chicago trails Detroit by 7 points - though the teams have had similar seasons so far. Red Wings RW Marian Hossa leads the team with 24 points, while Blackhawks RW Patrick Kane has 25.

Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobli was projected to be out until the middle of December, recovering from surgery on his ankle in the offseason. Ginobli recently told Spurs coach Greg Popovich that he would be ready to return to action on Monday night at Memphis. The Spurs have struggled without their Star #6 man, putting up a 7-6 record in his absence. “I’m going to be out of shape, a little slower,” Ginobli told Yahoo Sports. “But those are things you only get from playing. I feel like it works better for me getting 10 minutes of playing time than 20 minutes on a treadmill.”

OAKLAND - As much grief as the Raiders have had this season, they have a solid chance to beat rookie Tyler Thigpen. The Chiefs only put up 10 agaisnt OAK earlier this year.

MINNESOTA - Peterson looks like he will run all over the Bears D, and Orton may have a tough time if the Vikings manage the clock well enough.

Jacksonville at Houston - 8:30 PM

HOUSTON - One of the toughest games to call this week. It boils down to who has the better day, Maurice Jones-Drew or Steve Slaton.  Slaton played hurt last week, and still seemed a lot more motivated than MJD.

The 2-9 Seattle Seahawks may have gotten their running game back in order, but they still seem like a bird in the pan for the 7-4 Dallas Cowboys. Wide receiver Terrell Owens exploded for 213 yards and a TD last week after being held to under 83 yards for the last five games. Romo has led the Cowboys to back-to-back Thanksgiving day wins, by an average of over 29 points. With their starting QB back on the field, the Cowboys seem poised to make a run for a playoff spot.

The Celtics and Bruins are at the top of their leagues, and Boston fans face a tough decision on which game to watch tonight. The Bruins are six points ahead of division rival Montreal, and share the Eastern Conference lead with the New York Rangers (with three games in hand). The Celtics have 5.5 games on the Philadelphia 76ers in the Atlantic division, and a 1.5 game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.

The Bruins will face off against the Sabres in Buffalo at 7:00pm. The Black and Gold look to continue their reign as the NHL’s best in goals against, facing a team that they have already dominated twice this season.

The Celtics tip off against the Golden State Warriors at the Garden at 7:30pm. The C’s have won their last five, and are looking to secure their second 6-game winning steak of the young season. Golden State looks to break a 3-game losing streak, and have bested the reigning champion Celtics 4 of the last 5 times the teams have met.

The 10-1 Tennessee Titans will face the 0-11 Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. The Lions, a turkey-day football staple, have struggled mightily this season. Despite a solid season so far from young gun Calvin Johnson (48 catches for 905 yards, 18.9 avg per, 8 tds) the Lions have been plagued by injuries.  Quarterback John Kitna’s season ended early, and second-string QB went down with a thumb injury, and the previously-retired Daunte Culpepper was ineffective as a replacement. To add insult to injury, Culpepper’s replacement Drew Stanton left the last Lions game with a concussion.

Despite losing their last game, Tennessee has lived up to the name of Titans this season. The Titans have bested the Jaguars (twice), Vikings, Ravens, Colts, Packers, and have only lost to the steaking New York Jets. Veteran QB Kerry Collins has has helped lead Tennessee to their best start in team history. The Titans are currently tied with the New York Giants for the best record in the NFL at 10-1.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is on pace to break Dan Marino’s single-season passing yards record. Brees has already thrown for 3,574 yards, and has 5 more games to reach Marino’s record of 5,084. His big night on Monday brought him even closer. Brees was 20-26 with 323 passing yards and four touchdowns. The New Orleans dominated the Green Bay Packers 51- 29, including a Saint’ franchise record 54th touchdown by veteran running back Deuce McAllister.

“Not like anything we’ve done before”, is how the Edge described U2’s tentatively titled ‘No Line on the Horizon’ album, set for release in February 2009.  The Edge spoke with Mojo magazine about the album and the sound U2 fans can expect to hear.  Even after all these years of working with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois the collaboration still has new material and new directions to explore.  The Edge, finding it hard to put the sound into words, could only describe some of it as very 21st century sounding.

When Bono spoke about the album last month we heard about the dozens of songs that could possibly make the final cut.  The Edge did reveal to Mojo that all of the songs U2 worked with Rick Rubin on, have been shelved for this album.  U2 isn’t writing them off entirely, but they won’t make this upcoming album.  It’s likely that the material just doesn’t fit with the newer stuff that Eno and Lanois contributed to.

The band is in London putting the finishing touches on the album.  Although they expect to work right up until deadline, U2 fans should expect the album sometime in February.  Once that is out of the way, we should get some news about a 2009 U2 tour. Let’s hope!
