Due to extraordinary popular demand, One Direction continues to add more and more tour dates to their 2013 US Summer Tour. Currently, it will kick off in Ft. Lauderdale on June 13 and wrap up two months later on August 10 in Los Angeles.
The British-Irish pop boy band has taken the world by force. Members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson formed the band for the seventh season of the UK X Factor in 2010 and became almost immediate household names. Their first album, “Up All Night,” was released in March, 2012 and was immensely successful. It featured hit singles “What Makes You Beautiful,” “One Thing” and “Gotta Be You.” It reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 as well as top ten on charts worldwide.
One Direction’s second album, “Take Me Home,” was released in November, less than a year after their first. It features hit singles such as “Little Things” and “Live While We’re Young.” These songs, as well as the hits from their first album, will be featured on the tour.
The boys have said that they have both grown and matured since leaving the X-Factor and creating their own album.
“The main thing we tried to do was keep it more of the same because we know that is safe and the fans like that, but also try and develop it,” Zayn explained.
Liam continued, “We didn’t want to lost our fan base because we know they enjoy our music so we stuck with our sound but we’ve made it a little bit more meaningful, a little bit more live-sounding and a bit more of a rocky edge to it.”
Zayn follows up by saying that the 2013 tour will be pretty much the same as the last tour, “but on steroids.”
Be sure to catch the boys at the Comcast Center on June 26. Grab your tickets here with Ace before they’re all sold out!
