Bruins Take Over Leafs

Posted by Ace Staff on December 11th, 2009 in Sports

Mark Recchi found the net twice in the final three minutes of regulation, leading the Boston Bruins past the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2 yesterday at the TD Garden. The Bruins controlled the tempo early on with a Mark Stuart goal 8:01 into the contest, followed by two additional scores in the second supplied by Derek Morris and David Krejci.

Boston decided to take it easier heading into the third where the maple Leafs came through with back to back goals in the first four minutes to get back in the game. “Three-goal leads are the worst,” said Recchi. “We were OK for two periods. In the third they came out and we weren’t ready for it. It’s nice that we responded after they did come back.” Toronto opened the door for the Bruins with a penalty in the final minutes, which definitely took the pressure off the defense as Recchi went to work at the other end.

The B’s are scheduled to take on the New York Islanders tomorrow before hosting the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday. Boston Bruins tickets are available now!
