The Boston Celtics agreed to a sign-and-trade deal this afternoon that will send free agent forward Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis to the Orlando Magic for forward Brandon Bass.
The 6-foot-8, 240-pound Bass is coming off his best season as a pro, averaging 11.2 points and 5.6 rebounds over 26.1 minutes per game. He signed a four-year deal with Orlando for $16 million in July of 2009. He is due to make $4 million this year with a player option for the same amount next season.
Davis, who won a NBA title with the Celtics his rookie season, has been a great contributor in the front-court in his four years with the franchise. Davis averaged career highs at 11.7 points and 5.4 rebounds last year.
With the 2011-2012 season officially underway, the C’s front office has also completed deals for Keyon Dooling and Marquis Daniels. Check back for more Boston Celtics updates here at AceTicket.com!
