After promising this past summer that they’d hit the road again, Fleetwood Mac is staying true to its word. The band, having not been on tour since 2009, will begin touring in April. The tour will kick off on April 4 in Columbus, Ohio. There are so far a scheduled 35 stops to the tour and it will wrap up on June 12 in Detroit.
The group’s last studio album, “Say You Will,” was released in 2003 and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. They have been on a break since 2009, taking time to work on personal projects. Stevie Nicks worked on her solo album, “In Your Dreams.” and Lindsey Buckingham performed many solo shows and had an accompanying live album.
Buckingham recently said that the group had reconvened for some new recordings but not a full album. She said, “We may be able to organize something- I wouldn’t think a whole album, but possibly something before we hit the road or, if not then, possibly something a little more extensive after the tour, depending on what everybody wants to do. The material is quite good, but we have to get everybody on the same page with that, and we’ll see where it goes.”
