The BCS bowl lineup is out and the championship game couldn’t get much bigger. Alabama and Notre Dame will face off in Miami on January 7th for what could be the most-watched BCS title game since the system was implemented in 1998.

The top-ranked Fighting Irish (12-0) are tied with Alabama for the most AP national titles at eight. They have not won one since 1988, however. This will be Notre Dame’s first BCS championship game. This will be Alabama’s (12-1) third appearance in the BCS title game in four years. They are attempting to become the first team to win back-to-back BCS titles.

The Crimson Tide has played The Irish just six times in history, and not since 1987. Notre Dame is 5-1 against Alabama, the Irish not winning since the orange Bowl in 1975.

Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley commented, “I’m pretty sure it gets the old-heads excited, people that are in their 50s and 60s. It’s going to be a historic game.”

The rest of the lineup is as follows:
Orange Bowl: Florida State vs. Northern Illinois (January 1)
Rose Bowl: Stanford vs. Wisconsin (January 1)
Sugar Bowl: Florida vs. Louisville (January 2)
Fiesta Bowl: Oregon vs. Kansas State (January 3)
