Bruins’ Tyler Seguin Leads Swiss League in Goals

Tyler Seguin came back from his 22-point rookie season with a bang in 2011-12. He led the Bruins in points with 67 and goals with 29. Apparently he’s been keeping up this pace during the NHL lockout as well.

Currently, Seguin is playing for HC Biel in the Swiss National League during the lockout. So far he has 20 goals in the last 20 games. Among the other NHL players in the Swiss National League, he is the top scorer with 32 points.

“I had no idea what to expect when I cam to Switzerland,” Seguin told the Tages-Anzeiger newspaper. “The league is very competitive- the speed and the talent level of the players has surprised me. It took me some time and effort to get used to it. Scoring goals is never easy; I didn’t do very well at the beginning. Now I just hope to continue playing well like I have been lately.”

There is no doubt that Seguin would have become an NHL superstar this season if there hadn’t been a lockout. We wonder how good he’ll be if the lockout lifts in December or January.
