Season 1 American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson recently announced tour plans at the turn of the new year, scheduling 40-plus concert dates across the U.S. in support of her fifth full-length studio album Stronger. The project debuted at number 2 on the U.S. Billboard chart, selling over 163,000 copies one week after its release October 24th.

The tour will kick-off at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT January 13th and conclude at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, CA April 10th. Other cities along the way include New York City, Boston, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Las Vegas and St. Louis. Singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson will serve as the opening act.
