The Boston Celtics will be back at home this week to play the Utah Jazz at TD Garden. The Celtics have been on the road for their last two games playing the Milwaukee Bucks and the Chicago Bulls. Their return home game will be Wednesday night at 7:30PM.

Macklemore will be performing at the House of Blues this Thursday at 7PM. Macklemore’s debut full-length album, The Heist, was released in October and includes hit singles such as “My Oh My,” “Can’t Hold Us” and “Wings.” Upon its release, The Heist debuted at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 and sold over 78,000 copies. Songs off of this album will be featured in his show on Thursday.

Amanda Palmer and The Grand Theft Orchestra will be coming to the Paradise Rock Club for three straight nights starting this Thursday. Shows will all start at 8PM. Amanda Palmer recently collaborated with The Grand Theft Orchestra on an album entitled “Theatre Is Evil.” This show will feature songs off of the album such as “Smile (Pictures Or It Didn’t Happen),” “Do It With A Rockstar,” and “Grown Man Cry.” All of these songs emanate the dark beauty that Palmer and the Orchestra have as their own entities while reflecting on society’s cultural norms.

Last year, after his NBA All-Star Weekend show in LA became such a hit, Shaquille O’Neal took All Star Comedy Jam on the road. As Shaq’s first new venture after his retirement from the NBA, All Star Comedy Jam is becoming one of today’s top comedy brands. The show will feature the legendary DJ Spinderella and the lineup will include: tour host Gary Owen, “The Comedians Comedian” Tony Roberts, “The African King of Comedy” Michael Blackson, and “the Gangsta of Comedy” Capone. Shaqs All Star Comedy Jam will be at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre on Friday for two shows, one at 7PM and another at 9:45PM.

One of rock’s most legendary bands, The Who, will be coming to TD Garden on Friday for a one night show. They will be performing their iconic 1973 double album Quadrophenia in its entirety, as well as a selection of classics. The Quadrophenia marked the band’s second rock opera and hit No. 2 on the US Billboard album chart. Rolling Stone’s David Fricke said, “Quadrophenia was a superior tale with more-taut songwriting; it was grounded in Pete Townshend’s memories of growing up angry, anguished and mod in the early sixties.” Founding members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will be joined by Zak Starkey, Pino Palladino, Simon Townshend, Chris Stainton, Loren Gold and Frank Simes for this epic night.

Boston College’s football team will play Virginia Tech this Saturday in what is sure to be a good match up. The two schools have been rivals since 1993 when BC beat the Hokies in the Big East conference round-robin play. The two schools moved to the Atlantic Coast Conference and the rivalry has continued ever since. Their last match up was on October 22 of last year where Virginia Tech beat BC 30-14. Hopefully this year the Eagles can sweep them out at Alumni Stadium.

The stand-up comedy benefit, Comics Come Home, will be returning to Agganis Arena again this year on Saturday. Actor and comedian Denis Leary will once again host the benefit serving as a fundraiser for the Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care. As of 2011, Comics Coming Home has raised over $5.5 million since its creation and they hope to raise even more this year. The hand picked cast of comedians will come from around the country for a full night of laughs.

The New England Patriots will challenge the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday at 4:25PM. The game will be at home for the Patriots at Gillette Stadium. Leaders for New England so far this season have been Brady, Ridley and Welker. We’ll see if they can withstand Luck, Brown and Wayne in this rival matchup.
