Celtics Handle Heat on the Road

Posted by Ace Staff on November 12th, 2010 in Sports

Ray Allen hit his first seven three-pointers for 35 total points and Rajon Rondo distributed 16 assists as the Boston Celtics went on to defeat the Miami Heat 112-107 yesterday at the American Airlines Arena. Paul Pierce shot 10-of-16 for 25 points and Kevin Garnett contributed 16 points and 13 rebounds. Boston never allowed a lead change through four quarters, handing the Heat their second consecutive home loss while showcasing the best record in the Eastern Conference at 7-2.

The C’s took control early in the first period, netting their first 9-of-15 to earn a 22-10 advantage. They found themselves up 20 in the third period before Miami developed a run of their own to chip away at the lead. “Everybody just stepped in and did their job,” said Boston head coach Doc Rivers. “Tonight was the first night I thought we had complete trust in the next pass.”

LeBron James scored 35 points with 10 rebounds and nine assists for Miami. Udonis Haslem and Eddie House came off the bench for a collective 34 points. Dwayne Wade struggled through all of his 20 minutes on the floor, making just 2-of-12 from the field for eight points. “There’s no need to be frustrated,” said Chris Bosh after his 16-point performance. “We’re nine games into the season and we can’t play perfect basketball right off the bat. We’re up against a lot. We just have to keep working…When it’s all said and done, I think we’ll be where we want to be.”

The Heat are scheduled to host the Toronto Raptors on Saturday as the Celtics continue their road trip to the FedExForum for their next game against Memphis Grizzlies. Boston Celtics tickets are available right here with us at Ace!
