Bruins Stage Comeback In Pittsburgh

Posted by Ace Staff on November 10th, 2010 in Sports

Mark Recchi contributed a goal in the first period and two assists in the third as part of Boston’s 7-4 comeback victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins yesterday at CONSOL Energy Center. The Bruins were down 4-2 at the start of the final block when Nathan Horton and Zdeno Chara found the net just 15 seconds apart to even the score. Shawn Thornton netted the go-ahead goal 12:40 into the period before Blake Wheeler and Milan Lucic added the insurance in the remaining minutes.

“Obviously, ideally we don’t want to put ourselves in the situations where we’ve got to come back like that,” said Boston goalie Tim Thomas after collecting a season-high 42 saves. “But if we’re in that situation we know we’re not out of it.” Thomas extended his franchise record in the process by winning his eighth consecutive decision to start a season. Boston will now look ahead to a tough opponent in the Montreal Canadiens tonight at the TD Garden. Boston Bruins tickets are now available!
