Rangers Bottle Up Lightning; Drury Hat Trick

By on November 7, 2008 in

Where did this New York Rangers power play come from? The Rangers were sharp with the man advantage last night against Tampa netting three power play goals, two by Chris Drury, en route to a 5-2 win. Despite their very strong start the Rangers have struggled on the power play, ranking second to last in the NHL. Drury credits Rangers assistant coach with the improvements on the power play; “I have to give a lot of credit to Perry Pearn. He made some adjustments”, said Drury according to ESPN.com.

Ryan Callahan had the first power play goal of the night for the Rangers, while Chris Drury added a shorthanded goal into the mix, getting him his second career hat trick. Henrik Lundqvist had 36 saves on the night for another solid performance in net. The Rangers’ 23 points is good for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Rangers tickets are available for all games including their next home game at Madison Square Garden on 11/10 vs the Oilers.
