The Boston Celtics will attempt to bounce back from their season opening loss to the Miami Heat (120-107). They will face off with the Milwaukee Bucks this Friday, November 2 at 7:30PM.
Though Boston’s debut didn’t go as well as hoped, the Celtics looked fairly impressive opening night. Jason Terry, Leandro Barbosa, Jeff Green and Courtney Lee made for a dynamic offense that the Celtics have been missing. Their defense, however, which was the NBA’s second-best last season, gave up an average of 89.3 points against the Heat.
“That’s not who we are,” said the Celtic’s Paul Pierce. “The way we defended Tuesday, we’re not going to be a team that’s going to give up 120 points. We’ve got to establish our identity and who we are.”
And that’s exactly what Milwaukee coach Scott Skiles is attempting to do. Last season the Bucks were ranked 22nd in the league allowing 98.7 points per game. He hopes to turn things around this year with the addition of new personnel.
Milwaukee has held Boston below 90 points in three of their past five meetings but has scored an average of 80.0 in that span. Each team, however, has the potential to win on Friday. This will be the Bucks’ season opener and the Celtics’ first regular season game at home. Be sure to get your tickets here with Ace for an exciting night at TD Garden.
