The Neil Simon Theatre in New York City is currently playing host to “Rain: A Tribute to The Beatles,” a production that features over 30 songs from the legendary bands’ unforgettable catalogue. The show will run almost daily at the playhouse from now until Sunday, January 9th. “The Beatles’ songs have proven a lot more memorable,” states Elysa Gardner from USA Today. “‘Rain’ proves at its best, more theatrical — than most Broadway scores of late.”
The show starts in a setting that recreates the Beatles classic “Ed Sullivan Show” appearance and tells their story up until their split in 1970. The cast includes Joey Curatolo as Paul McCartney, Steve Landes as John Lennon, Joe Bithorn as George Harrison, and Ralph Castelli as Ringo Starr. “Although purists might sneer at this concert/theatrical experience, there’s no denying that, as cover bands go, this is one of the best.” – Hollywood Reporter Frank Scheck.
