Bruins Fall 2-1 To Habs, Drought Continues

Tomas Plekanec fired one in his own net on a corner face-off but made up for it by scoring the tiebreaker with 9:14 left in the third period to lift his Montreal Canadiens past the Boston Bruins 2-1 last night at TD Garden.

Carey Price stopped 29 shots for the Habs but took the blame for giving Boston the initial lead. “I just Bill Bucknered it,” he said. “Just a mental lapse, for sure. I didn’t want that to be the winning goal. Our guys did good to get it back and they bailed me out.”

The Bruins have lost their last 3-of-4 and will look to turn things around when they battle the Canadiens again on Saturday, this time away at Bell Centre.

“I don’t think we’re that far off,” said Bruins goalie Tim Thomas. “But the record is the record and we’re getting too far off. It’s something that we are working on addressing daily. We realize we need to start putting wins in the win column. We’re going to try our best to make that happen.”
