The Rangers got great production out of their new free agent star, Marian Gaborik in last night’s 5-2 win over the Coyotes. Gaborik scored two goals and added an assist but left the game with an undisclosed injury prompting fears that the injury prone forward will miss time again this year. The Rangers jumped out early in this one, grabbing a two goal lead by the end of the first period. New York got goals from Anisimov and Gaborik in the first. The Rangers didn’t let up in the second with goals from Prospal and Gaborik once again. Both Gaborik’s goals came on power plays.
The win snapped a three game losing streak by the Rangers who improved to 8-3-1 on the year. New York will play two on the road against the Islanders and Wild before returning to Madison Square Garden on 11/1 to host the Boston Bruins. You can get New York Rangers tickets for this and all games at MSG.
