Eddie House came off the bench and contributed with 20 points as the Boston Celtics went on to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 96-82 in Columbus, OH for their final preseason game. Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett took the night off to insure their strength for the start of the regular season.
Paul Pierce decided himself to make a game appearance, netting 11 points in his 13 minutes played. “I was just trying to stay sharp,” Pierce said. “We’ve got five, six days before we play again. I thought it was good for me to go out there.” Having only one of the Big three out on the court definitely gave others the opportunity to step up. Pierce, House, Wallace, Perkins, Daniels, and Rondo all left the game with double digit numbers.
The Celtics and Cavs will open up their 2009-2010 regular season campaigns against each other Tuesday, October 27th. Boston will then host the Charlotte Bobcats at the TD Garden on the 28th.
