Nathan Horton, Zdeno Chara and Chris Kelly all scored in the first period to spark the Boston Bruins in yesterday’s 6-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at TD Garden. After losing their composure in a tough loss to Carolina just two days prior, the B’s were able to find their rhythm and hand Toronto their first loss of the season. “Obviously, we’ve been a little frustrated and it showed at the end of the Carolina game,” said Bruins LW Milan Lucic. “What we’ve been able to do well as a team is we’gve always been able to turn that emotion into a positive and that’s what we were able to do here tonight.”

Toronto’s David Steckel notched the game’s first goal 7:29 into the first block. Following a scoreless second period, Milan Lucic, Patrice Begeron and Tyler Seguin contributed one goal each in the third to solidify the W. Phil Maple Leafs RW Kessel entered the contest with NHL-leading totals of seven goals and 12 points. The former Bruin was held scoreless for the first time in 16 regular season games. Boston is next scheduled to host the San Jose Sharks Saturday, October 22nd.
