Brady, Patriots Rally Past Cowboys

Down by a field goal with 2:31 left in regulation, Patriots QB Tom Brady stepped up to complete eight of nine passes for 78 yards, eventually finding TE Aaron Hernandez in the end zone to give New England their fifth win of the season Sunday at Gillette Stadium. The 20-16 victory over the Dallas Cowboys marked Brady and head coach Bill Belichick’s 116th win as a coach/quarterback tandem, tying a Super Bowl-era record held by former Dolphins Dan Marino and Don Shula.

Brady threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns in total from 27 completions. The Cowboys defense kept him on edge through most of the game, sacking him three times and intercepting two passes. “He’s probably one of the toughest competitors I’ve ever seen, especially from a quarterback standpoint,” said Patriots DT Vince Wilfork. “There was plenty of time for our offense. When it mattered the most, they came up with what we needed.”

The Pats defense also delivered in the clutch, holding Tony Romo’s Cowboys to just six points in the second half to set the stage for Brady in the end. The Patriots will next welcome in the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, October 30th following their scheduled Week 7 bye. New England Patriots tickets are now available!
