Marco Sturm scored the initial goal for the Boston Bruins against the Anaheim Ducks heading into the 2nd period. Unfortunately, the final six goals to be scored in the game belonged to the visitors. Teemu Selanne led the Ducks with two goals in the 2nd and the flock followed from there, netting four more insurance goals to blow out Boston 6-1 last night at the TD Garden.
Bruins coach Claude Julien is clearly not happy with the way his team has started the year. “Too many skilled guys not going, and I’ll have to deal with the dirty laundry in the dressing room,” said Julien. “When you need to keep talking about your fourth line being your best line, it doesn’t bode well for your hockey team.”
Hopefully the B’s will be able to work out the kinks early in the first portion of the season. Their next game is scheduled against the New York Islanders at 7:00 PM in Boston. They will then play host to the Colorado Avalanche October 12th at 1:00 PM.
