After holding out four games this season following all training camp and pre-season play, Michael Crabtree has finally reached contract agreements with the San Francisco 49ers. Crabtree agreed to a six year deal that he can void up to five years if he meets undefined performance clauses. Wednesday was the first time in a few weeks that Crabtree and agent Eugene Parker spoke with GM Scott McCloughan and Paraag Marathe.
The 22 year old wide-out made 19 receptions for 1,165 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2008 at Texas Tech. Coach Mike Singletary has said he will welcome Crabtree as soon as he is able to join the team. The 49ers so far this year are off to their best regular season start since 2002, leading the NFC West with a 3-1 record. Their next game is set for Sunday, October 11th when they host the Atlanta Falcons at Candlestick Park. After a bye during Week 6 they will travel to Reliant Stadium to face the Houston Texans October 25th.
