The New England Patriots in a surprise move dealt Pro Bowl wide receiver Randy Moss to the Minnesota Vikings for their 2011 third-round draft selection. Despite the questionable decision to send Moss back to the franchise who originally drafted him, the Pats are stacked with a number of draft picks looking ahead to next season. They currently have two picks in each of the first four rounds of the 2011 draft that include their own picks and a first-round pick from the Raiders, a second-round pick from the Panthers, the third-round pick from the Vikings and a fourth-round pick from the Broncos.
Moss is now in the final year of his four-year deal with the Patriots. After New England’s Week 1 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in early September, he expressed his distaste in regards to the franchise’s lack of urgency to extend his contract. “When you have done so much and put so much work in, it kind of feels like I am not wanted,” he said. “I am taking that in stride and playing my final year out and whatever the future holds is what it holds, but it is kind of a bad feeling – feeling not wanted. It is not like my production has gone down.” Moss will return to Gillette Stadium in Vikings uniform on Sunday, October 31st. New England Patriots tickets are now available!
