Three runs in the 3rd inning was all the Philadelphia Phillies needed to get their first postseason win in 15 years. Cole Hamels pitched a gem for Philly going 8 strong innings with 9 strikeouts. Chase Utley’s two run double gave the Phillies the lead for good in the 3rd.
In Thursday’s game 2 the Milwaukee Brewers will throw their ace, C.C. Sabathia on three days rest as the Brewers try to pull even in this NLDS. The Phillies will have Brett Myers on the hill.
