Troy Brown of the New England Patriots announced his retirment this week. Brown who hasn’t played this year and only played in one game in 2007 has played his entire 15 year career with the Patriots. He leaves as the team record holder for receptions with 557.
New York Giants WR Plaxico Burress was suspended by the team for missing practice this week without notifying the team ahead of time. Burress will also pay fines of over $235,000. Burress is appealing the decision and is anxious to return to the practice field. Coach Coughlin is not concerned that the incident will be distracting for the team.
The Detroit Lions fired President Matt Millen this week. Millen was largely viewed as a disappointment for the Lions. In his seven years with the team the Lions posted a 31-84 record.
Vince Young is working his way back from a knee injury. Once healthy the Titans plan to keep him as the back up to QB Kerry Collins.
