The first week of the 2008 NFL season is in the books. There were some surprises, some injuries and some memorable games. Check out the week 1 NFL results below.

9/4/08 New York Giants (1-0) 16 Washington Redskins (0-1) 7 - The defending champion Giants got off to a good start led once again by a dominant defensive performance.

9/7/08 Atlanta Falcons (1-0) 34 Detroit Lions (0-1) 21  – Running Back Michael Turner led all backs in the 1st week of action with 220 yards en route to an Atlanta Falcons victory.

9/7/08 Buffalo Bills (1-0) 34 Seattle Seahawks (0-1) 10

9/7/08 Tennessee Titans (1-0) 17 Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) 10

9/7/08 New York Jets (1-0) 20 Miami Dolphins (0-1) 14 - Brett Favre look settled in his Jets opener, throwing two touchdown passes.

9/7/08 New England Patriots (1-0) 17 Kansas City Chiefs (0-1) 10 – The Patriots lost Tom Brady on the first drive of the game. Brady will be out all season. Can backup Cassell get the job done? He did in week 1.

9/7/08 New Orleans Saints (1-0) 24 Tampa Bay Bucs (0-1) 20 – Drew Brees had a great day with 343 passing yards in a winning effort by the Saints.

9/7/08 Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) 38 St. Louis Rams (0-1) 3 – Donovan McNabb had the best passing day for all QB’s in week 1 with 361 passing yards.

9/7/08 Pittsburgh Steeleres (1-0) 38 Houston Texans (0-1) 17

9/7/08 Baltimore Ravens (1-0) 17 Cincinnati Bengals (0-1) 10

9/7/08 Carolina Panthers (1-0) 26 San Diego Chargers (0-1) 24 - Jake Delhomme threw for 247 yards as the Panthers bested the Chargers.

9/7/08 Arizona Cardinals (1-0) 23 San Francisco 49ers (1-0) 13

9/7/08 Dallas Cowboys (1-0) 28 Cleveland Browns (0-1) 10 - Tony Romo and the Cowboys had an easy time with the Browns this Sunday.

9/7/08 Chicago Bears (1-0) 29 Indianapolis Colts (0-1) 13 – Despite a good passing night with 257 yards, Manning and the Colts were unable to hold back the Bears.

9/7/08 Green Bay Packers (1-0) 24 Minnesota Vikings (0-1) 19 – The Aaron Rodgers era got underway on a positive note with Green Bay taking down the Vikings.

9/7/08 Denver Broncos (1-0) 41 Oakland Raiders (0-1) 14
