The Chicago Bulls are currently working a deal that could land Denver Nuggets small forward Carmelo Anthony, who has previously expressed his desire to consider all options once he reaches free agency next summer. Chicago is willing to give up three-year veteran center Joakim Noah as a major piece of the potential trade offer. Noah is set to earn $3.1 million this season before his contract expires in 2011.
The Nuggets offered Anthony a three-year $65 million extension through 2014. If he decides to reject the already revamped contract, the Denver front office will have to consider their trade options. “I think I’m going to convince him to be a Nugget,” said GM Masai Ujiri. “No, I don’t know, I can’t make a judgment on that. Like I said, it’s a process and until he tells me that…We want him back, the city wants him back, ownership wants him back.” The 26-year old averaged 28.2 points and seven rebounds per game for Denver last season.
