Former New England Patriots longtime stand-out Tedy Bruschi has just decided after retiring to join the ESPN stable of NFL analysts. He will mostly show as a representative for ESPNBoston and will appear on “NFL Live,” “SportsCenter, and “ESPN Radio.” ESPNBoston is a newly developed project and will officially come alive on Monday when the Patriots face off against the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium.
“I’m very excited to be joining the ESPN team. I hope to bring my passion and knowledge for the game as an analyst just as I did as a player,” said Bruschi. “I look forward to the national exposure of covering the entire league while also having the opportunity to stay close to my roots here with ESPNBoston.com.” Bruschi, a 13 year veteran, was named honorary defensive captain of the franchise’s 50th Anniversary Team by Patriots owner Robert Kraft. In his 189 regular-season games played with New England, he racked up 1,134 tackles, 30 1/2 sacks, and 12 interceptions.
ESPN could not be happier to now have Bruschi as a part of their team. “Tedy Bruschi has embodied the Patriots and their unrivaled success the past decade, said ESPN executive vice president, production Norby Williamson. “We are thrilled that this three-time Super Bowl champion is joining our roster of NFL experts as well as ESPNBoston, which will give New England sports fans a stable of authentic and familiar Boston voices when it launches Monday.”
