Tomy Romo shredded the New York Giants defense for 307 yards and three touchdowns to lead his Dallas Cowboys past the defending Super Bowl champs 24-17 Wednesday night at MetLife Stadium. Four-year veteran Kevin Ogletree emerged as a lethal offensive weapon for Dallas, catching eight passes for 114 yards and two TD’s.

“I don’t think you downplay it or up-play it,” said Romo after the game. “It’s a big win obviously because we beat a divisional rival on the road and those are tough wins to come by, especially ones that are against the defending champs. But at the same time, if we want to get to where we want to go, you’ve got to put your head down and grind again and you just have to keep, win or loss, do it again.”

Eli Manning completed 21 passes for 213 yards and one touchdown. He led the Giants down field and connected with former Cowboys TE Martellus Bennett in the end zone with 2:36 left in regulation. Dallas took control from there and never let New York have the ball in their possession again.

“Take a bite out of humble pie, that’s basically what it is,” said Giants coach Tom Coughlin. “It brings you right back down to earth.” The Giants will next take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home Sunday, September 16th as the Cowboys travel to CenturyLink Field to battle the Seattle Seahawks.
