Following a tough week of roster cuts headlined by Deion Branch and Brian Hoyer, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has now turned his attention to the Tennessee Titans with his 53-man roster set. The Patriots finished 1-3 in their recent preseason stint. The team will officially be tested for the first time this Sunday at LP Field.
“Tennessee is a well-balanced team. Very good. Well coached. They have a lot of young players on their team, but they also have a good sprinkling of veteran players that are very good and consistent,” said Belichick. “They do a lot of things well in all three areas, and we know it will be a great atmosphere down there, a lot of intensity down there, against a good football team.”
New England isn’t done working out and evaluating players despite trimming their roster down to 53. The team just recently signed free agent running back Lex Hilliard and tight end Michael Hoomanawanui. A big question mark for the Pats so far is the consistency of the offensive line. Dan Koppen, the Patriots starting center since 2003, was released just last week.
“Everyone is little different. You’ve got to make adjustments,” said Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. “And we’re working to make improvements too, between myself and the other guys who are playing there. There’s been a lot of guys in there this preseason, which has been good training for us quarterbacks to try to understand the different aspects of the snap, and the snap count. Hopefully by Sunday we’ve got it all taken care of.” Find the best available New England Patriots ticket deals right here at Ace!
