Longtime stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard is planning a 2010 U.S. “Stripped Too” tour, and will be performing around every major city in the U.S. starting January 16th at the Madison Garden.  He is in the works scheduling a TD Banknorth Garden show, which should take place soon after the NYC date.  Izzard is currently wrapping up his 2009 American tour and will be traveling to the UK starting late October.  The comedian is also hard at work on the set of upcoming feature films “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” and “Rage.”

Izzard has been around the comedy scene in the U.S. since the mid 1990’s.  He first went mainstream after his “Dress to Kill” routine was featured on HBO television.  After the show Izzard went on to win two Emmy Awards in 2000 for overall writing and performance.  He is known to go off script during his routines, along with openly conversing of major current and historical events.  Comedy Central named Izzard number 75 on the list on 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.
