Phish Announces Fall Concert Dates

Posted by Ace Staff on August 26th, 2010 in Concerts

The second leg of Phish’s long, American summer tour wrapped up just a week ago, but the band has already plotted their next venture. After headlining Austin City Limits on October 8th, Phish will kick off their Fall 2010 Tour in early October with a three-night stand in Broomfield, CO. The three-week tour will wrap up with three shows on October 29th, 30th and 31st at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ, including a very special Halloween show. Stops along the way include Amherst, Charleston, Utica, Providence, Manchester and Augusta.

A first for Phish fans, included in the ticket price for each date is a free MP3 download of the entire show, a fully mixed soundboard recording, redeemable at LivePhish.com, often within an hour of the band stepping offstage. Throughout the summer, Phish performed 29 shows from June to mid-August, with all but two shows on the East Coast. The Vermont natives must have a thing for their home region, with the last nine shows scheduled for the fall to take place in or close by New England.

Phish’s most recent release is their fourteenth studio album Joy, just as much a staple to their career as their earliest works. This album not only brought the band back together, but reunited them with producer Steve Lillywhite, who produced Billy Breathes (1996) and marked their 25th anniversary. The next addition to their massive career-long catalog is due out September 19th, Tab at the Tab, recorded live on February 27, 2010 by the Trey Anastasio Band at the legendary Tabernacle in Atlanta.

Phish has a tradition of putting on very special Halloween shows. In the past few years they’ve taken on the persona of their biggest inspirations, covering complete albums such as the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main St., the Beatles’ White Album, the Velvet Underground’s Loaded, Talking Heads’ Remain in Light and the Who’s Quadrophenia. This year’s highly anticipated Halloween tour is just the next in line of what’s been a tradition of blasts from the past. The tour will hit Amherst’s Mullins Center for a special two-night stint for October 23rd and 24th before travelling to Manchester, NH and wrapping up in Atlantic City for Halloween.
