The Buffalo Bills are now over a week in to their training camp at John Fisher College near Rochester, NY.  On Monday reports came back saying quarterbacks Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick were “particularly sharp with their passes and decision making.”  Rookie Shawn Nelson recovered from an ankle injury early this week, and was eager to make up his missed time.  Five plays after catching a short pass, he blew by the coverage and pulled in a 35-yard touchdown pass.  “That was really good to see him out there,” said head coach Dick Jauron. “He needs every rep he can get. We got him a good deal of work today, maybe a little more than we planned.”

As Nelson came back offensive linemen Brad Butler went down with a lower back injury.  Coaches and players are hoping the injury does not become long term and are remaining optimistic about the situation.  Marshawn Lynch’s weapons charge four month ago has led the NFL to take action and suspend him for Buffalo’s first three games of the season. These games will be against the New England Patriots, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the New Orleans Saints.  “I think we’ve been preparing for him to be out for those three games,” said QB Trent Edwards. “We haven’t banked on him being there for those three games. It’s just a matter of other guys stepping up.”  Those men called upon will be Fred Jackson and Dominic Rhodes.
