Veteran wide-out Terrell Owens will not only share VH1 time slots with Chad Ochocinco this fall but also receptions from QB Carson Palmer, as he just signed a one-year $2 million contract with the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday. The premier receivers/reality television stars are ecstatic to be working together in the same unit, already dubbing themselves Batman and Robin.
Both players were quick to spread the news through their respective Twitter accounts. Ochocinco welcomed Owens and jokingly stated that “all of our games have been moved to pay-per-view, you got to pay to see this.” Owens soon responded with “Ocho Uno is coming 2 town!! Hey Robin, Batman will b there soon!” Chad has been lobbying for the organization to acquire T.O. since the end of the 2009-2010 regular season.
Bengals owner Mike Brown is confident that there won’t be any locker room issues despite the high profile personalities involved. “Yes, people can make mistakes,” he said. “It doesn’t mean that they go on the rest of their lives making mistakes. They can get their ship pointed in the right direction. This is a 36-year-old man. He’s been through a lot. He’s proven as a player and as a person.” Owens proved to be quiet both on and off the field last season with the Buffalo Bills, catching 55 passes for 829 yards and five touchdowns. Cincinnati Bengals tickets are now available!
