In a Youtube video posted on July 20th, Adam “MCA” Yauch announced that the Beastie Boys will delay their upcoming album and tour as he undergoes treatment for a salivary glad tumor. Yauch was upbeat, saying that the tumor was “very treatable”, and that it would not affect his vocal chords. The procedure to remove the tumor and the radiation treatment afterwards may take weeks, not including recovery time. The Beasties have promised to reschedule dates, as well as schedule a full tour to support the new album, “Hot Sauce Committee Part 1″.
