When Radiohead released “name your own price” album In Rainbows, they vowed not to make any conventional music videos to accompany it. Keeping with that promise is the new clip for “House of Cards”. Directed by James Frost, “Cards” was filmed using a process called Velodyne Lidar. Images are captured by 64 spinning lasers, resulting in something like 3D sonar.
The band has also announced plans to release the raw data used to make the video so that fans can remix and remake it how they see fit.
Radiohead will be playing at the Comcast Center on August 13th.
