Bon Iver Adds Northeast U.S. Tour Dates

Posted by Andrew on July 11th, 2012 in Concerts

Bon Iver Northeast Tour

The Grammy award winning band, Bon Iver, has recently added a short string of Northeast U.S. tour dates to their already mammoth worldwide tour. They will be kicking off in Providence, RI at the Providence Performing Arts Center and will make their next stop at the Bank of America Pavilion, here in Boston. From here they’ll head to Maryland and PA and finish up with an awesome four-night run at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

For this tour, in support of the groups sophomore album Bon Iver, Bon Iver, Justin Vernon has compiled a 9 piece band together to help recreate the landscape of sounds heard on the latest record. Reviews of their overseas shows have been overwhelmingly positive with Tom Harrison of The Province saying, “They played as an ensemble and were powerful without overwhelming the delicacy of Vernon’s songs”.  Other reviews of the tour have also stated that the majority of the material they played is off the most recent album with flutters of fan favorites from the previous For Emma, Forever Ago.

It’s always a thrill to catch your favorite band live, but it will be even more exciting to see what Bon Iver will bring to the Bank of America Pavilion, one of this writers favorite venues in Boston, on an early September evening.  Most bands hit their prime in the middle of the tour and these guys have been at it for awhile now so it will be great to see them stretch out some of the tunes into unknown territory. If you’d like to purchase tickets for this show or any other of their U.S. tour dates you can find them here.
