Bruins Sign Rask to 1-Year Deal

Posted by Andy on June 29th, 2012 in Sports

The Boston Bruins and Tuukka Rask have agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth $3.5 million. Rask started 22 games in place of starting goalie Tim Thomas this past season, earning an 11-8 record with a 2.05 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage.

Earlier this month Thomas informed the Bruins front office that he doesn’t expect to return next season. Rask took the starting spot in 2010 but Thomas regained the position the following year en route to a Stanley Cup championship. Boston recently drafted goalie Malcom Subban with the No. 24 pick in the draft to fill the void as Rask steps up. Check back for additional Boston Bruins offseason updates.
