TD Garden to Host Justin Bieber This Fall

Posted by Ace Staff on June 9th, 2010 in Concerts

Fresh from opening for Taylor Swift on the European leg of her Fearless tour that included a trip to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Justin Bieber is scheduled to headline an extended tour leg for the fall. With his North American My World 2.0 tour, Bieber is set to hit over forty cities, mostly sports arenas, from mid-June to December. At the ripe age of sixteen, this is Bieber’s first major headlining tour in promotion of his multi-platinum, chart-topping album My World 2.0. Xbox 360 will serve as partners to promote their new “Project Natal”, a controller free gaming experience with voice and face recognition, to be released this holiday season.

With Bieber’s track record and crowd control problems, tickets are likely to sell out extremely fast. Several public appearances that Bieber was scheduled to make in the past year have been cancelled because the masses of fans outnumbered the possible space in the venue, creating a health hazard. In April, when he was about to play for Channel Seven’s Sunrise, an estimated 4,000 pre-teen girls showed up at 3:00am and stormed past safety barricades. In addition to those injured, dozens were treated for hyperventilation. But Bieber wants fans to keep the record straight, posting on Twitter, “”I want to make this clear… I don’t cancel. I woke up this morning to the police canceling the show for safety reasons. I’m very happy about the welcome and the love from around the world, but I want everyone to still remember my fans safety comes first.”

Whether you’ll be storming the stage for Justin Bieber or just want to dance to his catchy tunes, tickets for the second leg of his tour are now available. A dollar from each ticket will be donated to Pencils of Promise, a charity which works to build schools and increase educational opportunities in the developing world.
