Jets, Giants Push to Host 2014 Super Bowl

Posted by Ace Staff on May 13th, 2010 in Sports

The New York Giants and New York Jets organizations are pushing to host the Super Bowl at their home location in 2014. The New Meadowlands Stadium would certainly welcome a different climate in comparison to previous world championship settings over the past few decades. “As I look outside we could not have gotten more perfect weather. Obviously weather will be a big part of the debate,” said Stadium CEO Mark Lamping. “Sports fans and especially football fans are not intimidated by weather…A New York/New Jersey Super Bowl will be unlike any other.”

Players and coaches alike have spoken out in regards to the idea of a Super Bowl in the northeast. Giants QB Eli Manning thought back to the conditions at Lambeau field during their epic win over the Green Bay Packers in the 2007 NFC Championship, saying “It gets back to playing football, it’s old school.” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is supposedly in favor of the bid for 2014. The next two Super Bowls are set to be held in Dallas and Indianapolis. Check for more NFL updates right here at Ace!
