Tuukka Rask collected 34 saves as Blake Wheeler and Miroslav Satan scored 94 seconds apart for the Boston Bruins to gain the early advantage en route to claiming victory over the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 Wednesday at the Wachovia Center. Boston now leads the series 3-0 with Game 4 scheduled for Friday night. “We are in good shape, but now we have to take care of business,” said Rask. “It was just one of those games when you see a lot of shots, you feel comfortable, you’re not making any extra moves and you’re standing there and everything seems to hit you.”
Philadelphia’s Arron Asham notched the initial goal of the contest before Wheeler and Satan came through for the B’s just minutes later. Following a defensive battle in the second, Mark Recchi came up with a power play score 2:30 into the third block. Patrice Bergeron then supplied the unassisted dagger late in the game on empty net.
In their longtime post-season history the Flyers have never finished on top when trailing 0-2. The B’s are 30-12 after winner Game 3. If Philly can find a way to win tomorrow, the series will return to Boston for Game 5 on Monday, May 10th at 7:00 PM. Purchase your Boston Bruins playoff tickets with us at Ace!
