Kevin Youkilis hit an RBI double deep to center in the 12th inning for the Boston Red Sox to defeat the Texas Rangers 8-7 last night at Fenway Park. Boston featured three players with multiple hits between Youk, Marco Scutoro and Mike Lowell. Josh Beckett lasted through seven innings to let up seven hits and seven runs. “At least we won the game,” he said. “It makes me feel a lot better. These guys deserve all the credit.”
This marks Boston’s second straight walk off after losing their previous five contests. The Rangers started strong with a 4-0 lead after the first two innings of play. The Sox then rallied to make it 7-4 through five, courtesy of homers produced by Lowell, Darnell McDonald and JD Drew. Josh Hamilton jacked one over the wall in to bring in three more runs in the top of the seventh for Texas, eventually setting the stage for extra innings. The Sox are next set to play Texas once more before hosting the Baltimore Orioles for three games starting Friday, April 23rd at 7:10 PM. Purchase your Boston Red Sox tickets with us at AceTicket.com!
