Michael Ryder scored the game winning goal against his former team to break a 2-2 tie and help the Boston Bruins win three in a row against the rival Canadiens in their first round series. The Bruins ended up winning the game 4-2 with the dagger coming from Chuck Kobasew in the final 37 seconds on an open net. The Bruins were able to make it through with out Milan Lucic, who was suspended for the game after cross-checking Montreal’s Maxim Lapierre late in Saturday’s 5-1 victory.
The Bruins are just one win away from advancing to the second round for the first time in ten years. The Canadiens have a tough task ahead of them but are not willing to go down without a fight. “All our players are on skates now and we know what the game represents, so we will be re-evaluating everyone,” said Canadiens coach and general manager Bob Gainey. “It’s the worst situation and the best challenge.”
Look for the B’s tomorrow night in Montreal as they try to take home the series and move on to the next rounds. Playoff tickets for the Boston Bruins are now available here at Aceticket.com!
