Bruins Outplay Sabres, Eye Playoffs

Posted by Ace Staff on April 9th, 2010 in Sports

Miroslav Satan tacked one on the board 2:15 into the second period to even the score for the Boston Bruins to rally past the Buffalo Sabres 3-1 last night at the TD Garden. The B’s now have playoffs in sight with just two games left in their regular season. It will take just one win or one New York Rangers loss for Boston to continue on. “Right now, it’s about winning,” said Dennis Wideman. “Obviously, it was a big win for us, and it was great to come through. I think things are going better. I think it’s getting down to that time of the season where you’ve got to come through and perform.”

The Sabres started off strong courtesy of Derek Roy finding the net halfway through the first block. Satan notched the only score of the second, and from there it was all Bruins offense with a pair of goals between Wideman and Mark Recchi. Tuukka Rask collected 31 saves for Boston. “We know we need some points still to get it,” said Rask. “It was kind of a playoff atmosphere out there.” The Bruins are next set to welcome the Carolina Hurricanes to the Garden Saturday, April 10th before they square off against the first place Washington Capitals the following day. Boston Bruins tickets are now available!
