Boston Opera House to Host Wicked

Popular Broadway spectacular Wicked is scheduled to take on 2010 with performances across the U.S. The Boston Opera House in Boston is set to welcome the musical starting Wednesday, September 1st as it continues its run at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City. Wicked will also be featured in major cities that include Richmond, New Orleans, San Francisco, Toledo, Charlotte, Louisville, Milwaukee and Houston.

The show is based on Gregory Maguire’s parallel novel to the 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz,” filling in the events prior to Dorothy’s arrival. The story primarily follows sisters Elphaba (Wicked Witch of The West) and Glina (Good Witch of the North).

Act 1 displays the tale behind the witches before Wizard of Oz key moments are tied in during Act 2. Wicked was nominated for 10 Tony Awards in 2004, winning categories Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design and Best Actress. Purchase your Wicked tickets right here at Ace!
