The New England Patriots are set to kick off the 2009 regular season against the Buffalo Bills on September 14th at Gillette Stadium. The Bills have made the AFC East more competitive with their recent acquisition of Pro Bowl wideout Terrell Owens. It should be a true test for New England as Tom Brady is scheduled to be back and fully recovered from his knee surgery.
The game will be part of a Monday night double header showcasing four AFC teams. The Oakland Raiders will start their season campaign against the San Diego Chargers following the game in Foxborough. Returning a strong roster once again, the Patriots look to stay healthy with hopes of making another run at a super bowl title.
