Bruins Hold off Rangers

Posted by Ace Staff on March 22nd, 2010 in Sports

Miroslav Satan and Dennis Wideman each found the net for the Boston Bruins to claim victory over the New York Rangers 2-1 yesterday at the TD Garden. Following a scoreless first period, Vladimir Sobotka set up Satan across the way to tack one on the board with 4:24 left in the second. Wideman then added the necessary insurance 10:20 into the third with an impressive back hand to the top-right corner. Michael Del Zotto cut the lead in half for the Rangers just minutes later, but there from there it was too late to stage a complete comeback.

Tuukka Rask earned 23 saves on the night, most of which¬†were collected during New York’s six power play opportunities. “I can’t even remember when we won the last game 2-1,” said Rask, “but it’s something the team needs. We need these tight games and we need to win them. I think that’s going to help us.” The Bruins are scheduled to face off against the Atlanta Thrashers tomorrow night before hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday. Boston Bruins tickets are now available!
