The Boston Bruins netted three goals to solidify the 5-2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday at the RBC Center, holding their position at the eight spot in the Eastern Conference. “We needed a huge win tonight, I think we all knew that,” said Mark Recchi. “We stayed with it; we played the right way. We were a desperate hockey club tonight. We do that for 13 more games, we’ll control our own destiny and get in the playoffs.”

Patrice Bergeron started the festivities for the B’s with a score 23 seconds into the contest. Johnny Boychuck followed up in the second block before Erik Cole supplied Carolina’s first answer just minutes later. Cole came through again for the Hurricanes but Recci, Michael Ryder and David Krejci took over to give Boston their 31st win of the season. The Bruins are now set to prepare for tomorrow’s contest against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Garden. Boston Bruins tickets are now available!
