Paul Pierce scored 12 points in the first six minutes of play to boost his Boston Celtics past the Detroit Pistons 119-93 yesterday at the TD Garden. The C’s jumped out to a 29-point lead 30 seconds into the second block when Pierce picked up his third foul and left the game for good.
“It’s coming around,” said Celtics coach Doc Rivers. “It’s still not there, but that was great to see. He looked explosive. I think he’s getting closer, and our team’s getting closer.” Pierce, Ray Allen and Michael Finley split the action with 15 points apiece. Kevin Garnett, Glen Davis and Kendrick Perkins followed up with 14, 13 and 11, respectively.
In 2010 the Celtics are 32-10 with their full starting five. Hopefully they’ll be able to remain healthy through the end of the regular season as they battle for the third seed in the Eastern Conference. The Garden will next welcome the New York Knicks tomorrow night at 7:30 PM. Boston Celtics tickets are now available right here at AceTicket.com!
