Ray Allen drained the go-ahead 3-pointer with 17 seconds left in regulation to rally the Boston Celtics past the Washington Wizards 86-83 yesterday at the TD Garden. The longtime sharp shooter netted 10-of-15 from the field to earn a game-high 25 points, sparking the Celts to rally in the final block to earn their fourth consecutive victory.
Wizards coach Flip Saunders was disappointed in regards to how his team acted in the final stretch against the veteran Celtics lineup. “Six minutes to go and we’re up 13 and we start talking to Garnett, start talking trash and everything else,” he said. “Got Garnett and those guys juiced up.”
Paul Pierce scored 17 points for Boston as Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins followed up with 15 and 12, respectively. The C’s will look to continue their streak in Milwaukee against the Bucks before hosting the Memphis Grizzlies the following day.
